Sage wage slips are part of our working lives informing us of the amount we have been paid either weekly or monthly. It is important to keep your wage slips as they have all sorts of information on them including tax reductions, sick reductions, your net pay and personal information.  It isn’t however uncommon for people to be careless with their pay slips, stuffing them into draws, pockets and glove compartments in cars. Worse than that people often tear them up and discard with them only minutes after receiving it. If you are one of these people it is time you started to think about your actions, your pay slip is proof of payment and without them you can struggle to fix any finance issues that may occur.

Even if you don’t think you need your pay slips, your employers expect you to keep hold of them for future reference.  There are some individuals that keep track of their pay slips religiously, making sure they are stored away safely and in date order. Others perhaps keep their slips but have them scattered about the house and in no order what so ever.  It is only when they need to check the information that they begin thinking about them. This of course is then a stressful job as the pay slips need to be found, sifted through and sorted.

Even if they do manage to locate their wage slips they may find that the one they need is missing, and without it they cannot resolve the issue they have.  If this happens to you it is then your responsibility to get yourself a replacement.  You can ask your employer to give you one, but you may find them reluctant to do so. Finding your lost pay slip could be a time consuming and difficult process, particularly if it is from a long time ago.

If you discover that your employer is not willing to find you a replacement you will need to get in touch with a company that will. After providing them with some simple details including your gross or net pay and tax code they can calculate your tax and national insurance contributions.

It is important however to make sure that the company you go through it legit and not scamming you out of your own money. If you can get a replacement from your employer, do it that way.
